Daily Routine at Blueberry Hill

Structure Provides Security – Freedom Encourages Creativity

A Typical Day at Blueberry Hill

8:00 – 9:15 | Arrival & Free Play
After a shared breakfast, children can choose their own activities – whether it’s drawing, building, reading, or playing together. Free play encourages creativity, independence, and social interaction.

9:15 – 9:45 | Morning Circle
The morning circle is an important daily ritual. We sing songs in German and English, discuss the day's planned activities, and give children the chance to share their experiences.

This moment fosters a sense of community and helps children ease into the day. It also supports language development through immersive and playful communication.

9:45 – 10:00 | Snack Time
After the morning circle, children enjoy a light snack with fresh fruit, vegetables, or a small sandwich before continuing with their activities.

10:00 – 12:00 | Structured Activities & Projects
This is when many of our educational activities take place, including:

  • Creative projects (painting, crafting, storytelling)
  • Science experiments (exploring nature, sensory activities)
  • Music and movement (singing, rhythm games)
  • Outdoor exploration in our large garden

We also have regular excursions and long-term projects, where children actively contribute to a theme – for example, building an insect hotel, painting a collaborative artwork, or discovering local wildlife.

12:00 – 12:45 | Lunch
Lunchtime is an important social moment in the daily routine. Beyond learning table manners, children continue their bilingual language immersion through natural conversation:

  • "Would you like some more potatoes?"
  • "Magst du noch Gemüse?"

Our meals are healthy, balanced, and often organic, helping children develop an awareness of nutritious eating habits.

12:45 – 13:30 | Quiet Time & Reading
After lunch, children take time to rest and unwind. Depending on their age and needs, they can:

  • Relax in a cozy corner
  • Browse through books
  • Enjoy a moment of quiet reflection

This calm period helps children process the experiences of the morning.

13:30 – 15:00 | Free Play & Afternoon Activities
The afternoon offers another opportunity for free play. Whether outdoors in the garden or inside the play areas, children choose how they want to spend their time.

We also offer creative afternoon activities, such as:

  • Craft projects
  • Music and rhythm games
  • Movement and physical activities

At 15:00, the day ends, and parents pick up their children.

Through this balanced mix of structure and flexibility, children at Blueberry Hill experience a day filled with learning, creativity, and joy.
