Bilingualism

Bilingualism – Learning Languages Through Play

At Blueberry Hill, we follow the immersion principle, also known as the language bath. This means that children are naturally exposed to both German and English in their daily routine.

How Does the Language Bath Work?

We use the "One Person – One Language" approach:

  • One teacher speaks exclusively German
  • Another teacher speaks exclusively English

Communication happens through language, facial expressions, and gestures, ensuring that children understand the context even if they don’t yet know all the words.

Through playful interactions, songs, and stories, children intuitively acquire the second language. There is no pressure to speak English – language learning happens naturally and effortlessly.

Why Bilingualism?

Children who are exposed to multiple languages early on:

  • Develop a greater cultural awareness
  • Become more cognitively flexible
  • Gain stronger language skills
  • Benefit in school and future careers

At Blueberry Hill, we create an engaging, pressure-free bilingual environment where children enjoy learning languages and build a solid foundation for the future!
